About Our Journey

Since early childhood is the most important period in which the personality and skills of the child develop rapidly, art with wide perspective is a common denominator that supports the holistic development for needs of refugees, disabled, fragmented families and children with limited opportunities and normally developing children who attend our schools. Both Unesco and the OECD have called for a proper place for, and recognition of art in education. Nowadays, necessary steps are taken in Europe and Turkey to reach EU education policies and 2030 targets to bring the quality of early childhood arts education a standard level as an indispensable goal.
The aim of the project is to develop innovative, inclusive methods, techniques in art education in early childhood, to design application areas and materials for the developed methods and techniques, to create a gamified, nature-centered and digitalized perception of art, to support disadvantaged students with "art therapy"and to create an art education program as a result.
About Our Journey
OECD states that "Art education can help children develop skills and competencies that will prepare them for the future workforce, such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills." EU Comission emphasizes that "Art education and art therapy can play a vital role in promoting the social inclusion of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. By providing creative outlets and encouraging self-expression, these approaches can help to improve children's confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being." SDGs 4 aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all. This includes access to arts education and creative expression, which can help to foster social and emotional development in children, particularly those facing challenges or living in vulnerable situations. Education at a Glance 2022 - OECD "Art education and art therapy are essential components of a well-rounded education for all children, including those with fewer opportunities. These approaches can help to promote creativity, imagination, and emotional expression, while also supporting children's social and cognitive development."
